Testing

I thought I wasn’t going to be able to post today but here at the last hour, with 15 minutes of the day of the rapture left, I find myself ready to make note of a few things.

First… The world is still turning and it appears the rapture did not take place.

When I woke up this morning I quickly checked to see if the girls were still in their beds. To my thinking, I’ve lived long enough that I may have some penance to pay but the girls, well, they ought to be in the free and clear for a beeline to kick it with the Big G.

I might mention that I woke up after a total of two hours of sleep in twenty minute intervals for the night. I took the GRE this morning and I was so freaked out about missing the alarm clock I didn’t sleep at all.

And, because praise is a wee bit slim around my vicinity right now I’m just going to brag on myself.

Despite the stress of a 17-hour cross country drive, my mom in life-threatening surgery, my husband and I both losing our jobs yesterday due to downsizing, and getting two hours of practice time for the GRE and two hours of interrupted sleep, I still received a score on that stupid exam that is high enough to gain entrance into a national top five PhD program for journalism and mass communication. So there. (Yes, I’m sticking out my tongue. Because I’m that mature.)

Tomorrow I will return with a complete line of thoughts that may involve the stigma associated with not washing your hands in public restrooms. Today, I’m going to hit the publish button and try to sleep. The end.

I am so proud of you! That’s great.

I am sad to hear of losing you. ๐Ÿ™ I will miss your smiling face and commiserating with you over our shared work/family balance.

I will be praying for your beautiful family and wish you only the best.
