Tom Didn’t Make It But He’s Remembered Fondly

And now, the information you’ve been waiting for all day.

Tom the Turkey, despite molestation with lemon zest, butter, thyme and sage, was delectably moist and yummy. It almost made me feel ok for getting all close and personal with him.

Almost.

As I’m sure most everyone who celebrates Christmas feels at 11 p.m. the night of, it has been a full day! For us it’s a good day, too, full of family and love and excitement.

Uno did not get the iTouch she’s been requesting. She does seem quite happy with the Twirly Girl dress I scored used at the second-hand store.

Dos is sleeping with her unicorn Pillow Pet. Her life is pretty much complete, she’s been asking for that particular gift for almost a year.

Tres… she passed out a few hours ago after a hard crash from the Skittles she found on the counter top. She was like a wind up toy… going really, really fast and then slowing a bit before suddenly just collapsing into a heap!

I can’t help but feel fortunate to have family and a feast for Christmas. I feel a bit guilty for the plenty we have had this year. And then I remember, “To whom much is given, much is expected” and I pray I’m worthy of that statement.

From our crazy place to yours, I hope your day has been a good one and you realize that no matter what comes toward you in 2012, you can face it. Nothing will be given to you that you can’t handle.

May you have better luck in your life than Tom the Turkey, who had to put up with too much during life as well as after death. The poor thing.

If you want to give me a present (and I know you’re just dying to do so!) would you consider liking StealingFaith on facebook and/or signing up for email delivery of the post? Just mosey on over the the buttons at the top right of the page and sign on up… you’ll never take a chance at missing a giggle again and I will feel loved!
