Rabbit Show

Don’t look now, but there’s a chance I have whiskers attached to my snout.

Not that I technically have a snout (or whiskers, for that matter), but more that I may have long hairs growing from the general nostril region of my face, along with some long, floppy ears.

I saw this because we attended our very first rabbit show today. And after a day spent with so many rabbits and rabbit people, I’m afraid I’m beginning to look like Flopsy, Mopsy, or Mo.

It’s either a rabbit or someone who’s experiencing sleep deprivation. Since I got up at 4 a.m. this morning in order to travel to the rabbit show, yes,

4 a.m. is really early, especially when it’s 10 p.m. of the same day. It feels like anyone who stays up past 10 p.m. is their own special brand of crazy sauce.

We’ll see how the whiskers go when I check the mirror tomorrow, but in the meantime I’ll just tell you how our rabbits did at the show.

We took three rabbits with us and travelled four hours because we’re crazy like that!

Dallas took third twice.

Teddy took second twice.

And Peppermint, she stole our portion of the show with Best of Variety and Best Opposite of Variety. If this sounds like gobbedly-gook to you, this link to Kim’s Rabbit Hutch might help you put the vocabulary terms into your brain.

We’re proud and looking forward to doing even better in the future.

But right now… sleep. The best is calling my name like a long-lost lover. So goodnight.

“It’s over. Time to pee on the campfire and call in the dogs.”

(You thought I’d forgotten my little phrase there, didn’t you?!
